Why did my sandcastle collapse?

Remember those times when your parents and relatives went to the beach together? Ahh....fun times aint it? Your mom dad and relatives with you and your cousins, brothers and sisters playing on the beach on a nice weekend morning. Nice waters (well by Malaysian standards it aint that nice la.......but still.........we go anyway), nice sand, lovely atmosphere. I remember the times my dad, brother and I used to go to Teluk Batik or Lumut together 7.30am on Sunday mornings. Miss those times.

Remember when we all built the sandcastles? Those were fun aint it? Actually i preferred to make Volcanoes........at least 1 - 1.5 feet tall......tallest was close to 2 feet high. Anyway, we might have made sandcastles that look superb like this...........

And then one big wave comes and ends up like this...........

Then we cry over it and grumble at the waves for demolishing our castle.

How come we never thought of making a rockcastle? Well i guess because it would have been tough, right? But if a rock was put up against a wave.......highly unlikely it will budge......what else crumble.

I watched the movie Gladiator, and one of the lines of Marcus Aurelius , Emperor of Rome was, "I had a dream. A dream of Rome. A dream so fragile, that you can only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it will vanish".

What im referring to is that life is really that fragile. Whatever we build our lives upon : Studies, jobs, friends, family, companies, investments, politicians, cars, bikes, girls, boys.....etc. All these are very fragile indeed. Proof? You can break all these.........either break the object, break the law, break the promise or worst still, break the heart. And the best part of all, almost everyone still wants to build their foundations from these things one way or another to step forward in life. Now thats a plan to start out with. Honestly, nothing wrong with planning our lives. It shows good maturity and character.

Like the old saying, if you fail, get up and try again. True indeed.

But what if (*Im not cursing anyone here*) it wasnt you that fell down, but the whole castle you were staying in collapsed. You've just lost your entire life. Or if not the majority or at least a portion of it. Any human being would feel utterly devastated. If not, then that person either has a mental problem or just dont have a heart at all.

Building anything on sand.......to ANY engineer and scientist.........is a BAD BAD idea. Especially if you are building a tall building, or any building for that matter. We need solid rock. Thats what the pilings are for, to give a firm foundation. If your life is built around something volatile like say.......money..........thats like the worst foundation to build on. Coz IF something goes wrong, man, thats one sad sight.

So what is the best life foundation material?

Of course i will say its definately Jesus Christ. Lol.

Simply because He has said that He is The Way, The Truth and The Life. If there is Life in Him, there isnt any life anywhere else. Life not meaning as in we live eat and breathe. But life as in we get all that is life and living our lives 100% with security.

In the bible it talks about building your house on a rock, a firm foundation. Come on, your house aint built on quicksand for heavens sake........and the bible said that Jesus is that rock, The Firm Foundation. And even if the seas roared, the winds blew and the ground shook, a house built on solid rock is......well......Solid! A wise person would think of that.

But some will argue........well why not i build my life 20% money + 20% career + 20% girls/guys 20% my own stuff + 20% God. I got all dont I? No you dont. U nearly havent got enough.

If u sum the actual thing up.......its 80% world uncertainty + 20% God certainty. Or in another illustration 80% insecurity + 20% security. ONLY 20%. Now........which engineer will take a 80% risk and build a house or condo on soil that is 80% sand and 20% rock? Thats a poor choice. Any engineer will get fired for doing that.

Choose 100% rock la of course! Even kids will know it. So the best way is building our lives 100% in God with God and for God. Jesus is that Rock we all need.

Some of you may not be convinced that Jesus is 100% Rock. Well its fine with me. I respect all your views and ideas. But when it comes to a point in time, you will see this scenario for sure. No human escapes it. I've been there so i can relate.

But those of you who have or wish to choose Jesus Christ as a Life Foundation, congradulations. Your taking the first step to a Life built with 100% Quality 100% Security 100% Guarentee. But like i said earlier in the post.......building a solid foundation wont be easy.........but with God and His grace, anything is possible.

Phillipians 4 :13 - "I can do anything through Jesus Christ who gives me strength"

Be Blessed
C ya.
