Singapore 2009

Finally after 22 years......i get to say that ive been to another country. I wouldnt say ive gone overseas. But still at least i stepped on another soil.

Singapore

Now i know many of you guys say that Singapore is nothing, so near can take Air Asia and be there in 30 minutes. Well still, its a first for me so...........SHUT UP! Lol!

Anyway, i was there for just one night. Followed my dad for official matters which i shall not disclose. First time ever seeing my very own passport was cool. Traveling to SG was rather erm......Nice.

We took a bus there (coz my dad wants to see how its like taking a bus there). We took the Nice bus company. Which was really........very.......nice!

This is the bus we took.........NICE leh?!

The service was really excellent. I would give it a 4.9/5 star rating. The 0.1 i would give if the ticket price could be a tad lower. RM88 one way KL - SG and return is SDG55 SG-KL. Well, once a while and for try sake. We get free food, individual tv screens, and host treatment. Seats were really comfy. Drivers were really smooth.

From KL to SG is really ntg but trees and highway so no point bogging abt that.

Reaching the Malaysian and SG immigration checkpoints was new to me. With all the inspections and all. Experience of travel just got better. Crossing the Causeway across the Johor Straits was nice. Tho a little hazy. I think i could see far off Sumatra. Lol.

We left KL at 9.15 and reached our destined hotel around 2.50pm. By right it should be a 5 hour journey....but some passengers had issues at the rest stop and at customs check. Made my dad and a few other passengers a little pissed off.

We stayed at the Copthorne Orchid Hotel along Dunearn Road. Man now i have to register SG roads in my head. A nice 3 star hotel with room rates for double bed from as low as SDG149++. See im promoting for them =P. Anyway ive stayed in quite a few hotels and all have their own features. This hotel was like any 3 star hotel. Nice and comfy and simple. Basically rested upon arrival. Then dads old friend , Unc Wong, came to take us out to dinner at Newton Circus. A nice food hawker center with lots of food. Only thing i didnt find were mamak stalls!! But the waiters n waitresses there definitely are like our Malaysian mamak guys.... "Boss come sit sit! We have nice food! Come see see!" Very intimidating indeed

What Newton Circus Hawker center look like

So with a hefty heavy dinner (considering both weight and $$$) literally tireness and sleepiness set upon us. Went back to watch some TV then KO-ed till next morning. Dad settled his business at the bank in Chulia Street and then had breakfast nearby Market Street. We took cab all the while coz wanted to see how nice it is in a cab. The MRT stations were a little far from us, and dad cant walk too much too. Last destination of the day was the famous Orchard Road. Shopping malls a plenty. Tourists esp the Ang Moh are everywhere. Stopped at Tangs and walked till almost halfway to the end of the Road exploring the area. By then it was already 11.20 and we head back to our hotel. Checked out and took the 1pm bus back home. We reached KL at exactly 6pm even in the jam.

Overnited at Klang at grandma's house before returning to Wangsa Maju this morning.

Simple experience nontheless eye opening to see another nation and its people.

But still

I Love Malaysia.

*Peace*
