How much He loves u.......no matter what happens.
The guy was Jesus. The girl represents us. Life, as many troubles as it seems to have, no matter what happens to us, no matter what we do, He still loves us.
We are blocked from seeing Jesus, mostly by ourselves and things of the world. Yet He is hard pressing to reach you in almost every way.
It just takes your heart and your decision. When u are fed up of life, Jesus was never fed up with you.
He has just been waiting patiently all this while.

I Believe
About man who gave his life away for me
Complicated yet it seems so clear
If I open up my heart, it be so near to me
I believe in you
I believe in you

I believe your word as set me free
with all that I am

What YOU need to know.
well for those who DONT know this is a good place for a start.
To tell you the truth, there is no where on earth that says ONLY Christians can pray to God.
The fact is : God was not made for Christians, God made all of us for HIM! This is the truth.
So it is rightful that everyone can pray to Him
Prayer to God does not need ANYTHING accept u come to Him and sit down before Him and tell Him your hearts content. Prayer is not a religious thing. It is a personal communication between you and God alone. It is meant to be secret, intimate, sweet and a wonderful thing. Its more wonderful than talking to your gf/bf or ur fav idol.
U dont necessarily need to kneel down (but u can if u want), offer God food or gifts (He wont want them), or say long soothing sweet words (its more of an insult than being sincere).
What God wants when u pray is just YOU alone and your hearts content.
If u feel angry at God, tell Him ur angry at Him. If u want to cry before Him, do so. If u want to protest against God, be His guest. God wants ALL of your hearts sincere contents. The more u share with Him the more closer u get to Him. Much like friends that share everything between each other, so can u with God. Heres a bonus : God does not reveal ur secrets if u tell Him!
Many also ask who to pray to? God, Jesus, Holy Spirit? Anyone will do. Why? They are from the same origin of God. God has a spirit and His Holy Spirit is also the same as Him, but the Holy Spirit is our helper. Jesus is also God but He came to earth as a man to die for all our sins. Therefore Jesus was God on earth who died for YOU. God died for YOU!
So why not start a conversation with God today? He has been waiting all YOUR life for you to open your mouth to talk to Him.
-God Bless-

Its about Him.
Ask yourself this question : What is my purpose on earth?
Can u give YOURSELF the answer? Can you be definitely sure that what you think your purpose is IS what it is?
You cant. You can never be sure what your purpose is even you think deeply within ur own mind. How come? Simple.
YOU did not create YOURSELF, therefore you dont know your purpose.
An inventor creates or invents something with a purpose. So we did not create ourselves how can we know our real purpose? Im not talking about eat sleep and multiply. Im talking big here.
We always look at ourselves. Self focus self centered. My ambition, my career, my dreams. Its nothing wrong. But that is not the center or purpose of your life. U may succeed and have fulfilled your goals and dreams but if you missed your purpose in life, it isnt much of a purposeful life either. You will still feel something empty.
Which brings me back to Him, God the Creator. He created you and me therefore He knows our purpose. So how do we know our purpose? ASK GOD! God made you for a purpose , NOT God was made for your purpose!
The very source of your life was from Him in the beginning.
Still wondering why Him?
Until you know His purpose for your life and tat you were made by Him and for Him, life will always seem meaningless and pointless to you. Until you fully understand this, you will be always wandering in the dessert alone thirsty and lost. Until you stop assuming and believing by your own view of life and rather look at Gods plans realizing the more important TRUTH that God is everything you need, you will not have a purposeful life.
Life lived purposefully is more meaningful.
Think about it. What is your purpose.
Life without God is meaningless.
If you were once in the dark about your purpose life, now is the best time to walk into the light.

Bye Bye Sora
I sold my bike's Shimano groupset to a nice gentleman. Im upgrading. Haha. but still looking for my parts. So before i can buy anything, i better get some cash in hand first.
Anyway for u ordinary folks out there who dont knw wats a groupset look like, heres a short education on it with pic.
Clockwise from top left :
1. Right hand brake lever/STI Shifter
2. Left hand brake/STI Shifter
3. Rear brake calipers
4. Front brake calipers
5. Cranks - chain ring arm
6. Crank left arm
7. Rear deraileur
8. Cassette
9. Front deraileur
No 1 & 2 are the brakes n shifters incorporated into one unit. This was pioneered by Shimano and made it popular coz shifting n braking can be done with out moving ur arms. Just push the levers inwards and u will shift. Pull it backwards and u brake.
No 3 & 4 the brake calipers. NO explanation what they do here. They just BRAKE!
N0 5 is the crank chainring. Its called so coz it a big ring and the chain goes around it. DUH! Road bikes use a typical 52 teeth for the big ring and 39 for the smaller rings. And typical setup is just 2 rings to save weight. There are 3 rings if u wana do hills, but we rather stick to 2 and train our legs. We road bikes want light bikes n parts. ^^
No 6 is the opposite crank arm for the left side of the bike.
No 7 is the deraileur. Many ppl mistake by calling it gears. It the component tat shifts your chain up and down the cassette or chain ring. This is the rear one so it shifts for the cassette.
No 8 is the cassette or some refer as sprockets. This also is wrongly addressed as gears. Todays modern and new designs have a 10 speed rear cassette. Which means u have 10 gears to select behind. That is alot. My old set uses 8 only. So what difference does it make? Alot in terms of gear choice and gear ratio. So between these 8/9/10 speed cassettes, the teeth count is between 11T - 25T. Mine uses 11T - 23T.
No 9 is the front deraileur to shift the chain on the chain rings.
This is a racing bike groupset and its the lowest model of the Shimano tree. U cannot put this on a mountain bike. Retails around RM600-RM800. The highest end (Dura Ace) will set u back RM3900. Why so expensive? Simple. Pay for technology and material.
So this whole bunch of parts will go to its new owner soon. Will courier it to him. And now i will wait for my 9 speed groupset *patiently*. hope it comes fast coz i cant ride now. Haha.
God Bless me wit a new groupset! Amen.

I will miss u. Thank you for everything!
So as i got out suddenly it started to drizzle and yet the sun was out. I didnt care. Just rode. Manage to escape it in the end.
Today i wanted to try the route to genting sempah (25km one way) to see how nice the roads are. After some time spent on Google Earth to find out the route i finally got my bearings. Google earth seriously has helped me alot on KL travel. Haha
Exiting danau kota then i was on a short highway b4 i reach some modern kampung roads. was a really nice place as i rode along. my target was to ride 15km one way then 15 back. And after i rode further n further i was almost in the middle of the forest. This route goes tru a windy narrow path to genting sempah, genting highlands and also bentong, pahang (abt 45km away). But i just cycled as far as i can b4 u-turn home. And then......it just had to drizzle. from km10 onwards i was greeted with water drops.
Not to mention the small incline reduced my speed to 20 kmh.
On another note, this is the first ride i do with my new Mavic wheels in full riding use. Its a really nice wheelset to ride. I feel the lightness now. Steering is quicker and response is faster. Everytime i get up n sprint the wheels just goes along and obeys all my directions. Its a really fun wheelset to ride on.
So now i was doing 20kmh for abt 5 more km. so my meter stopped at 15 and i decided to u turn back since i saw some grey clouds. the drizzle got a little heavier. So i made the shallow decent. I didnt pedal, just freewheel for the next 3km, whis is amazing. haha. Along the twisty roads with a few hairpins. Then along the way i saw another rider alone. Greeted him and continued our separate ways. his bike was cool though. I tink it was a cervelo. Lol
Anyways, as i reach flat road, i saw infront of me a monster cloud. it was big black and ugly. i was sure i will have to endure the rain later. But i tried to beat it. So i pounded the pedals as hard as i can. Did 37kmh at certain places. pushed real hard. then suddenly i get a mixture of crosswinds and headwinds from the storm clouds. If u wanna knw wat tat feels like. U ride at 37kmh then have some one push ur wheels side to side and push u backwards. its not tat scary, just challenging to get ur wheels to go straight.
AS as i reach the outskirts of the kampung to the town area of Gombak, the rain fell. And i was riding into a monster. Slowly things got more wet. me the bike the road. now my mind was to get home as safe as i can. I continued riding in the heavy rain while other motorcyclist took refuge under the bus stops. they might think i am crazy. but well, i still continued.
now one thing riding in the rain NOT usinfg those cool shades is water gets into your eyes. And i dreaded for almost 30minits. water plus sweat plus hair gel in my eyes and i had to watch the road. Had to constantly wipe my eyes pedaling at 24kmh in the rain.
had to make my self noticable to traffic. So i took alot of road. its better to let drivers see u then to suddenly find u. at one point i had to avoid the bussed taking and letting go passengers.
So finally i reached danau kota again, and the rain lightened. I pedaled slowly home after tat , drenched but wit a nice experience anyway. haha. memories.
another day another ride.
So whats the thanks and missing all about?
Well, i sold off my old wheelset to a nice guy. gave him offer RM100 for my pair of wheels. Those wheels served me for 3 yrs n 3300km. went tru almost all with me. Gona miss tat set. Hand sprayed some more. The graphics tat i made myself. hehe. Hope to see it on its new owners bike. Take care my wheelsets. till we ride again.

126.9 km
4.30am
I couldn't sleep the whole night. Since 1am turning in bed, probably excited abt the days ride. Just lay in bed and turned around. So finally i got up brush my teeth, dress up, load up my bike and prepare for another special ride.
5.00am
Reached Sam's( cycling buddy) house. Lights off, still snoring away. Went for a few rounds then Yong and Albert came. It seems all of us have had some sort of sleep problem. Yong got 2 hrs of sleep, Albert complained abt needing more sleep. Sam was well......himself. Waited for Khalid to mount the bikes on his car.
5.30am
Finally Khalid arrived. Saw his nice Cinelli bike. Dura Ace parts. Cool. Loaded 3 bikes up on the rack. My bike was in Yong's Waja along with his bike. So 5 of us made our move to Ipoh. We will be doing a 125 km ride according to Albert. I was stunned........ Ipoh-Sg Siput-Salak-Kuala Kangsar-Parit-Ipoh. I didnt get any sleep at all and i was going to ride 125km. Couldnt have asked for anything worse. :p
5.45
Finally really moving. Sat in Yong's car. Chatted along the way. The other 3 in Khalids car.
6.45
Stopped somewhere in Tronoh for breakfast. Well the order of the day was Roti Pisang. well we got special offer too - 1 roti 2 pisang. Sounded good. So i had one also. We were going to need those pisang's for our ride. Sam hantam mee rebus and kopi ais. We were catching time so we all hantam our roti pisang. Albert slower coz he ordered 2 roti pisang.
7.00am
Started our journey again. 15 more minutes and we will be at the meeting place.
7.20am
Finally reached the meeting place (a food court) after Yong overshot the junction. And to my surprise, there were about 40 cyclist waiting, gearing up, setting bikes. Never seen this many cyclist for a long while, let alone ride with them. Some from as far as Kulim and Penang. Just to be here on this century ride. Got out my bike from the car. Changed to my jersey. waited for the rest to gather. saw loads of cool bikes. in fact, all of them were except mine. :p the total value of bikes there probably more than RM100k....... Couldnt help notice the Pinarello's, Look's, Scott's, Giant's, Trek's, Proton's, Merida's, Cinelli's, Matrix's. So many cool bikes. We were all getting looks and stares from people very soon. Kinda "syok" feeling too. we were cool no doubt tat day. ^^
7.30am
A short briefing by the road captain. Briefed the route, stop points, precautions and other things we needed to knw. One prominent question popped out, "Wats the speed limit?". Haha.
7.35
LETS GO! As everyone shouted, so we went off. A whole big bunch of us. Wearing cool attire riding cool bikes in one cool fashion. But i was kinda afraid to ride in such a big group. Not seeing the guy behind, touching wheels, rubbing shoulders. So i just hang at the rear end. Both Yong and i agreed, it was kinda scary. But no doubt fun. As we pass traffic lights we definitely got every other road users attention. I would have liked to see their expressions.
First 5 km
Well this is where it all gets nice and easy. Rolling out into the highway. We took up nearly one whole lane coz there are so many of us. we had support vehicles. A car with camera man on board, some motorcycle assistants and a lorry laden with food (mainly bananas and water. Glad it wasnt hijacked by al-monyet). Every so often, the camera man would stop by the road side and snap shots n videos....CHEESE!
5km-22km
Things started to get a little fast here. The "peloton" started to pick up speed to 40kmh. I was affraid these guys would up the pace. I stayed at the rear end always. Shielding from the wind. It was my only chance to save energy while keeping up with pace. We rode along some nice sceneries and a few bad roads. Whenever there was a pot hole or man hole cover the guys would use hand signals and shout "HOLE!". Then along the way suddenly i heard "WATERMELON!". =.=, which idiot dropped water melon on the road.......
But as soon as we exited to town, the bunch sped up to 42kmh.I was beginning to struggle. And soon enough i was left behind wit a few other riders. Albert joined me too. we were both shaking our heads. By this time we did about 18km. wats another 108? So we took our time and steady rode, keeping 3okmh.Then we reached Chemor, small sleepy town. We saw them stop. According to our meters it was 22km. We were suppose to stop at 55km in Salak. BUt one member had a flat tire. So we gladly paused for a short rest. Me and Albert were almost out. I hadnt got enough sleep and it was apparent now. My legs were already feeling as if it did 60km. Albert mentioned want to turn back. I had the same feeling. I was really almost not in the mood to ride. But Yong chipped in saying, "Finish it la, just take ur own pace n time.". But i was still a little discouraged. Sam added thers just over 30km to go to the next stop. After some thinking......well......wat the heck.....suffer lor. haha. I was yet to knw wat is suffering. So after a good 10 minits rest, we moved again. We were the center of attraction for the whole town. I mean, seeing 40 cyclist gather in one empty lot.
As we moved towards Sg Siput we went tru some smooth roads. tried my best to keep up with the group. We went a little slower at 35kmh. Was much more tolerable.
Started to reach Sg Siput town, my old NS camp wasnt to far away. haha. But we rolled into town like a superstar. First we took a whole lane of the road. We went tru red lights (which the motorist we kind to wait for us [told u like a superstar] ) rather slowly. And we made lots of heads turn along the way. ^^ was beginning to like tat feeling. Sg Siput to Salak
Here we just blazed along the highway. Km's ticked away. And suddenly we reached our first stop. Ate some more pisang's and top up some water. Took just 10 minits rest. Then road captain said "lets go". Now i wanted to let those pisangs get to the legs first but well, let them go down later. I just ate one pisang btw. So off we went again into the unknown. At this point, 55km covered. Almost half distance
Salak to Parit
Well during the briefing i didnt knw wat rolling hills were until Albert explained to me. And it seems we were in for a nasty ride. According to him also, Parit is at km98 and around km 60 we will go tru the hills. So as i innocently go with the flow, everything seemed nice. Pace was good after a stop. Cycled tru some old kampung roads. Till this stage i see a lot of kampungs and beautiful scenes.
I was in the middle of the bunch suddenly and was enjoying the drafting. When suddenly my front wheel pointed UP. And i was in my big chain ring in my 4th rear sprocket. I got a shock and i shifted down quickly while the others sailed pass me up tat 1st leg ripping hill. It wasnt too long nor too steep, but the manner which i approached it caused me to get a bad start. Soon the men were seperated from the boys. Roughly 10 of us struggled. I just got out of the saddle and pedaled up as best as i can. In the lowest gear ratio it still seemed like agony. Surprising enough Yong is a catholic. So with some bible knowledge i shouted out Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things tru Christ who strengthens me!"
As i reached the top, my troubles were far from over. Going down is always fun. Tat was just one hill, i heard there were 20...........
Along the way, most of the hills were long and shallow, probably less than 10% gradient. Gradient works like this : 10% means an elevation of 1 feet for every 10 feet traveled. So u get the idea. It may seem small but when u ride up with ur bike u will feel it deeply in those legs. And i was cursing the pisangs havent turun to my legs yet. Well Albert and i were one of the few last ones. He suffered a bit. I did slightly better a bit. BUt that all changed when he got help from the motorcycle. Well his job was to help those riders up the hill faster. I wanted a push too....but for 3 consecutive hills Albert got help....."Not fair!" i yelled.
I didnt even pay attention to wat distance i was travelling. I just looked at my speed. sometimes 12, 11, 10, 9 or even 8kmh. Now tats slow. Some hills i climbed wit the momentum from the previous decent, saving energy. After about 5 or 6 hills i caught up with Albert and we climbed the next few hills together. I said i was gona take my own sweet time and i dont care how fast u go. Just leave me if u wana go ahead.
Many times i said if i cant go up anymore i was gona get down and push. Didnt happen. But my legs were hurting already. Some riders in front slowed and i caught some. By about the 10th small hill Albert said there was going to be a series or about 3 big hills, one after another. Honestly i was scared. I didnt knw if i can handle. Suddenly he said "I think this is it". so i went ahead climbing. Was kinda shallow if u wana call it BIG. Turns out it wasnt. But still having agony all over.
Having to get out of the saddle.....pumping those legs away. I hear my heavy breath with each pedal stroke. I was all over the road. And my head bobbing up n down. My tongue was sticking out like a dogs. Good thing the cameraman wasnt there to snap me. I looked back a few times and see Albert struggle, so i shouted "Come on Albert!". He just laughs.
On a couple of hills we were chatting some fun stuff. Suddenly i had the thought of putting a turbo charger, intercooler, supercharger and NoS to the bike so we can get up these bloody hills. Just to make some humour. Then finally we reached the big trio, El Grande, the Big Papa. i just looked up and it went on and on and on......well time to get cranking(literally). It was a good 100 meters long and probably gradient about 15%-20%. KILLER! And it was. I shouted to Albert "Dance on the pedals!". He said, "Who teach you?". "Lance Armstrong.......,". So dance on the pedals i did. And after i reached the top of the first hill, i looked in front and saw another monster. I shot down the hill and went UP again. Albert got help from the motorcycle......again. I was feeling my legs were gona burst anytime.
By the third hill i was almost out......then fortunately, it was my turn to get a push! Finally! I shot pass Albert happily shouted "My turn!". Haha. While he pedaled up the hill. Then i thought the big trio was over, yet little i knw there were the Kids left to attend to. Little Devils. Much as annoying as the other 3. Then suddenly Albert came from behind and yelled "My turn again!". Sheesh...........
One of the last really medium hills i got another push......and i was about to pass Albert again. This time i made tat gear shifting noise with the turbo charge kicking in. "Vroooom *PESSH!*". He laughed a lot. After a while tru some more small hills, i caught Yong! For so long he disappeared. I came up side him and ask how he was, well the pain on his face was evident he was in a suffering mode. I went pass him up a few more small hills. I tot he was KOed. BUt suddenly i look back i see him come again. Man, he just joined the group for a few months and hes doing better than me and Albert. Shame on us seniors...... :p
So after the final hill at km96, we, i mean.....the few of us tats left, rode slowly to Parit just 2 km away. It seemed eternity to get there. My legs were beat up real good. Almost nothing left there. Still griped the pisang not yet turun to the legs.
Stop, eat, drink n chit chat.........NOT
According to road captain, we wud take a food break at Parit and do some socializing. In my mind it was sitting down at a shop to eat and get to knw each other. So when i reach the waiting group, we gathered at one spot for a short food break. I was almost out of order. 98% of me was spent. I was wondering where we were going to eat.
Stopped for about 10 minutes and suddenly "LETS GO!" again. wat the crap..........i tot we were gona do more stuff. Albert and i couldnt believe it. We were gona have to ride again, the remaining 30km back to ipoh. Dreaded it.
Soon we were moving again. I heard they were going to take it slow, which was wat i wanted to hear. But no. They still kept a 35kmh pace. My legs just said "We're done here. We aint doin no more work for u boy. Your on your own". And i was......soon i couldnt keep up with the group. Albert was behind me. Kinda tired too.
I said to him i condem liao. cannot go any faster. So he went on by himself. I cycled agonisingly slow by myself. Only can do 22kmh at best. Otherwise i will be around 17-19kmh, just spinning a light gear. I really cant go any faster. It was almost noon. with 25 km to go (after touching the 100km mark) i tot it was going to take me another hour to reach ipoh at this pace. Again slowly the kilometers went by. I looked at my skin and it was red from all tat sun exposure. Even the tiniest incline was a struggle.
Soon i was back on the main Ipoh-Lumut highway. with another 20km to go. And i was gona get more pain as this route has a few hills in it too + more cars. with every ounce or strength left i pushed each pedal stroke.
10km left. I caught another rider who stopped to take a short break. I just greeted him and passed him. The a few hundred meters down the road i heard a shout from behind. Another 2 guys caught me. They also took a small break at the petrol station but i didnt see them. They overtook me effortlessly nonetheless, demoralizing me even more.
5km left, so near. I know it. Just have to bear another set of traffic lights and i will be back at where we stared earlier. I reached the traffic lights to turn right. At this point, 126.4 km was done. I was just 5 minits away. I couldnt feel more happier. Its almost over. An epic century ride for me. My furthest and most grueling cycling trip. cycled a bit down the road, and finally i see the finish point. When i arrived most of the guys racked up their bikes on the cars and pickups. They were already changed and had lunch at the food court. Saw Khalid. Wanted to find Yong so i can stash my bike in the car and sit down to eat. Then i saw Albert coming from behind. Seems he stopped at the petrol station 10km back also. Didnt know he stopped but he saw me cycle pass the station. I reached at atound 12.30pm, nearly 5 hours after we started.
With my bike finally dismantled, wore fresh new clothes. I breathed a huge sigh of relief. Its finally over. I did 126.9km. And i could barely walk properly. Almost like a cowboy. sat down with the guys. And talked back about our experience.
Bad News
Well i learned tat we had two crashes today. One guy was alright. One guy sadly broke his collar bone (common cycling injury) and also two ribs (another common injury). Seems he feel while climbing and it must have been a heavy fall. Later we went to Ipoh Specialist to visit and see wats the situation. Found out he needed to stay a few days for observation. Hope he is doing fine now.
Home
Finally left for home around 2.30pm. Was an interesting trip back coz Yong kept shaking his legs at scratching himself like a monkey. why? To keep him from falling asleep at the wheel. After all, we were tired. But no problems at all. reached home at around 3.40. Thanked Yong for his kindness to send me to my doorstep. I wud not have been able to cycle another mile! But the oil stains on his poor rear seat. Ouch.
So tats all for a trip well worth talking about.
P/s: My bike is in KL with me now. Have already done the first 25km in KL around my area. So far so good. Hope to join a group soon.
Cheerz!
26 September 2007
Welcome Home to me.....
The day for me to go home after a whole hectic semester. went to meet dad at Sentral. Dragged 2 huge bags n a back pack all the way frm Wangsa to there. Supposed to go on a mission to look for the darn battery for the cordless fone at home. Low Yat cant event find it. Finally by 4.45 we were moving home.....home.....home......one word i love in the whole human vocab. Was paying at a toll gate when suddenly a group of 20+ bikers rolled tru the gates. some kawasaki's, yamaha's, honda's maybe aprilla's. Coolz.Reached home around 8.30. And the next day was a sunday.....hehe.....riding day.....skipped church ^^v (i knw im suppose to keep my Sabbath but i miss my riding with my group. I dont ride with them very often now). Sms frm Albert(group leader) said 100km.......oh.......100km??!!! I just got home, laid off my bike for few months and we are going 100 km? I wanted to go.....but i bet i will suffer. Btw route was from Sitiawan - Pantai Remis - Batu Hampar - Beruas - Ayer Tawar - Sitiawan.
23rd Sept....
Woke up at 6.15am. Prepared the bike a little. Put an extra water cage so i can take 2 bottles. Come on, 100 km. Need all the hydration i can hold. Dressed up my jersey, don my shoes n helmet. Speedometer reset for the journey. But before that, went to the nearby 7-Eleven for 100Plus. Important for long distance above 70km riding. Walked in the store wit my darn cycling shoes - *clomp clomp clomp*- tat funny sound when we walk on hard surfaces in these kind of shoes. They can kill a person by its sheer hardness. Paid for a can. RM1.80 - DUDE! Tats more expensive than KL!!! OMG!!! Not too sure abt the cashier's reaction seeing me clad in tight lycra shorts and a jersey at 6.45 am. Then zoomed to the petrol station to fill up air. And then went to Pizza Hut to wait for the guys.
7am sharp. And the calvary started to come in. one by one. Albert came with his just bought Scott bike -RM3000. Then had some new guys. A chinese guy and an Indian guy - both riding Merida bikes - RM3000. Then came Ah Ho in his Proton bike - and new Cratoni helmet. Then came Sam. Shocked me wit his new Trek 5.2 bike. Used Spinergy hubs tat looked like menacing spinning blades of death - can decapitate a mans head i tink. But most of all, he got a Giro Atmos helmet! Same darn thing Lance Armstrong uses! Well cost him a good RM535. :p The came good old Uncle Ting, runs a pharmacy. Hes abt 50 yrs. But hes fit on the bike. Seriously fit. Then came another new guy on a mountain bike. changed to skinny tires and he's ready for the road. Last guy, Dynasty shop owner a little late. hes from ayer tawar - 20 minits ride away from sitiawan. So there we have. 9 of us. had some bike chat then we set about our ride. 100km - for me its not the first time, but it is after a year haven't ridden tat distance.
9 of us. Forming a 2 x 4 line cycling on the road. I was at the back. Just soaking up the morning air. people looked at us. well its a sight for some. its rare for some to see 9 guys dressed and riding like the Tour de Langkawi in a small sleepy town like mine. As we escaped the town into the more open roads we formed 1 straight line. The Train. 9 of us. i was at the back. Shielding from the wind. let them do all the work in front. Hehe. I was trying to stick 3 inches behind the wheel of others. It can save as much as 15% of energy if u stay close enough to the rear wheel. But its been long since i rode in a close group, so i was a bit scared with being to close. Well, i was hoping they dont go above 30kmh or else i will suffer, but guess wat - they did. i mean i can manage 35 - 40 but not for todays riding. As soon we passed the big Tunku Bainun bridge to the other side, they continued flat out. I wasnt huffing and puffing - the legs just kept saying "Look here son, we aint working for u today..uh uh...no sir....ur gona die out there if u go on like this...." - So be it. I continued.
After just 30+ km my legs started to say its almost going to give up. From my speed of 30kmh i had to drop to 27kmh. And the guys kept going. Soon they were out of my sight. we havent reached pantai remis yet too. Soon i was on my own. Man.....wat a narrow lonely road. With lorries zooming pass me almost every 5 minits. And the road was bad, windy and up n downs.
Albert called asked me where was i. "Almost reaching Pantai remis. where are u?" - "Reaching Batu Hampar, remember turn right, k?" Well. I didnt knw how far they were in from of me but i was abt to find out. So i cycled at my own pace. Soon i was doing 25kmh. Slowing each kilometer. passing pantai remis my meter showed i covered 40km. I was thinkng of turning back. But im almost half way and each way is abt the same - i didnt want to go tru those bad roads and hills again. So i decided - continue. I suffer anyway.after 5 km i reach tat junction. Man, im so far behind. how will i ever catch up? The sign says 20km to beruas.......20......dreaded 20km. And i turned into wat seems a loooong loooong lonely road. And it was. Almost no car or bike in sight. Couple of houses here and there. BUt mostly i was alone. My speed dropped to 20kmh. My legs were just hurting and kept telling me to stop. Many times i felt like hitching a ride behind a motorbike and pull me along till i find the guys. But i didnt. Kept pushing. Legs say stop, heart says go.
The kilometers pass by, by then i did almost 2 1/2 hrs or riding. My butt was beginning to hurt. The sun was almost up - 9.30am. I was still far from Beruas. Another 10km. 9km. 8km. 7km. My speed gradually dipped below 20kmh. some places 15. My legs cant even pedal for a hundred meters witout taking a short rest. I doubt i cud reach home by 12 noon. 10am passed. Albert called me again. "Where are you?" - "Almost reaching Beruas i tink. Wats your meters reading? Mine is 57km" - "Ermm, wait ah, mine is 55 (laughs).
I was certain i was near town. More motorcycles and lorries and cars. Thats how u tell if u were near any civilization. And i finally saw the sign board BERUAS. Time to find the guys. Found them sitting down eating curry mee, wantan mee, drinking kopi o, teh ais, barley. I just parked my bike and sat on the chair. I told them im dead. Im done. I cant go on. well they laughed. But i was really dead. I didnt want to eat. took a good 10 minute rest. We were the odd people there. Others were family and friends gathered for a usual sunday morning breakfast. Here were 9 guys in funny looking outfits on cool bikes. We fit in just nice.
After finish makan, top up more 100Plus and water. Then - RIDE!. The sign says : Sitiawan 38km , Ayer tawar 25 km. I did about 60km by now. So we went on again. 10 minits rest only enabled me to follow the guys for 10 minutes. I shouted "38 km 38 km!" Funny enough one local guy shouted at us "HAH! KAYUH LAJU LAGI! PANTAS!" Pantas my @$$ u come do 70km and see u do pantas. Then i got left behind again..........as expected. Well i did a rough calculation by now. i was about 10.30am. if i can maitain just 20kmh i should be home in abt 1 1/2 hours. Simple maths will tell u. So tat was my target. Keep a steady pace.
37km.36km.35km. Then there was no sign left to tell me how far i was from home. Based on my meter i did 65km. Each long lonely km passed by again. By now the sun was battering against me. The head wind wasnt any help at all. Each pedal stroke seemed more harder to push than the last. Just so u knw all this while i was doing in the 2 lowest gear combination. 39 x 21. Its low enough to get u up a moderate hill. i was using this on a straight road - and SUFFERING.
Soon i arrived somewhere i was familiar with. The juction tat turns to Ayer Tawar if i turn rigth. Turn left i go to Ipoh. I was SO near to home now. Its not impossible to make it. best of all, it was only 11am. ^^
I tagged a trailer and managed to keep up to 35kmh for a km or so before i got to a 24kmh speed. Tailwind helped me i guess. I could see the town right in front of me. Then Albert called again. "Where are u?". "Almost at Ayer Tawar town, u?" . "Dynasty , new shops on the left by the road side.".
I was determined to move fast. Finally reached Ayer Tawar. Meter shows almost 90km covered. Looked out for the guys. After s few traffic lights and passing the main town, i saw them gathered at a shop lot, i didnt knw the shop Dynasty was an aquarium shop. They all cheered me, waved me. I turned in left. And finally stopped. "Not bad, after 3 months still can do 100km" said Sam. I agree. i even thanked God i came this far without stopping or turning back. I got off the bike. sat down. LIED down. "Tengok suda baring sana!". Everyone laughed at me. I didnt care. I was dead tired. well my legs actually. i was still breathing good. BUt i cund walk properly. Almost wobbled about a few times. Then the indian uncle gave me some reflexology and stretching. was nice of him. Jokingly said it wud cost me RM30 an hour for services. Or a plate of nasi lemak coz need energy to massage u down. "Tapi kalau orang tu yang besar lagi lah susah. Lagi nasi lemak kena makan. Tak pa kalau lemak macam ini. Dia lembut boleh kasi tekan lagi. Tapi yang muscle keras dan besar tu yang susah oh. Tu kena pakai banyak tenaga mau kasi tekan!" LOL. he was a joker. So after a short break. The last 7 of us head home. Other two went home already.
I was certain it was over coz im almost home. Boy was i wrong. Talking to Sam. The indian guy n Albert in front of me chatting. Suddenly i see him stop pedaling. I knew he had a cramped leg. He cudnt move. And i cudnt avoid in time. It was at a relatively low speed. About 17kmh. My wheel touched his wheel. HE stopped. i fell down - to the OUTside lane where cars were. Sam avoided me. And i swear a car missed my helmet by 2 feet. I really thought my head was going to get crushed by a car or knocked by a motorbike. All this in split seconds in my mind. Then the guys behind avoided me. One ran over my rims. OUCH. I fell relatively soft. Scraped my right knee. Not a big problem. Guys came to see me and Indian guy. I was fine. MY shifter was bent inwards. My shoe got large scrapes. My wheel was out of alignment. It got ran over after all. And i tot tat wat it. Jersey was fine. Helmet ok i guess. Needed to inspect when i go home. I got right up - didnt want to end up like a frog on the road. Frog Kill. Went over to see how indian uncle was. Still a little cramped up. He apologised many times. But i said it was ok. none of us wanted it to happen. Accidents do happen. After some talk and checking we managed to get moving. I told Uncle Ting, what a way to welcome me home.
So i thought the drama was over. WRONG! Rain! Well i found out my derailuer was bent inwards so i cant go to the last big rear gear. Dang. Anyway, it poured on us. We were soaking wet. For 15 minits we got a downpour. First rain ride. MY helmet got wet, my shoes, jersey, bike. All wet. I looked up at the water dripping from the front of my helmet. well i wanted to go fast but well, leg stopped producing anymore energy. I just pedaled in the rain. Got left behind - again. but this time i was already home for sure. Meter registered 95 km. And i was almost reaching town. Ahhhh. Finally. I see those familiar buildings. The rain stops. The sun came out. And i was still dripping wet. The guys wud have been home by now. I just rolled at my own pace to home. I got home. To my doorstep. 12.07 pm in the afternoon and after 102 km or riding. took 5 hours to complete. I sat down at the doorstep thinking back at the last 100km. Later i hosed down my gear and bike. Inspected the damage done to both body n bike. All needs a wash and some repairs later. Have to deal with the sore legs and butt too. This 100km ride is over. For now...........

iBridge Camp 2007...
From Leo, one of the iBridge Camp committee people:
A very good morning to you! As part of the camp's publicity, please do help us post up the following on your blogs, and also forward this to your friends ;) We've a sample post at http://ibridge2007.blogspot.com/ :)
"Have you just graduated and are looking for some directions? Or perhaps you've worked for a number of years, but yet find the transition from studying life to the working life still a challenge, a gap that leaves many things to be desired. Or maybe you've lost the luster that once was in your Christian walk, whereby the once close fellowship and passion for Christ has been replaced by an emptiness and meaningless pursuit of career.
If so, consider joining us at I-Bridge Camp 2007 this year, from October 13th to 16th, http://www.ibridge.com.my. Located in the scenic Cameron Highlands, the refreshing, fun and invigorating camp will definitely make an impact on your life. 4 days 3 nights or 3 days 2 nights (depending on your leave), we're all young, working graduates, just like you. Do hurry and sign up fast as the limited places are going fast!
I-bridge Camp is organised by I-bridge, a part of Graduates Christian Fellowship, an interdenominational Christian Organisation, part of NECF.
Thank you!

Sex is Overrated!
... that was one of the statements i made in the 'sex and bgr interrogation' mentioned in the previous post.
last night The Wife and i were discussing it, and we are concerned that some of the youth may have misunderstood that statement... hence today's blog post.
what i DO NOT mean by that statement: sex is boring and unfulfilling. what i ABSOLUTELY do NOT mean by that statement: either The Wife or I are unattractive to each other, undersexed, or frigid. please note the NEGATIVES in the sentences above! =)
sex is great. it's funtastic. it's a beautiful, pleasurable, exciting gift that God has given us!
so, what do i mean when i say that sex is overrated?
the world around us tells us that sex is EVERYTHING. it says you're a Loser if you haven't had sex. it says that relationships are All About Sex. turn on the Radio, you hear songs about sex (my humps, anyone?). turn on MTV, u see 'artistes' almost literally prostituting themselves on screen. watch any Movie, and somehow the hero and heroine end up in bed together. (if i'm not mistaken, most movies nowadays have at least one or two nude scenes too... but we're spared that by the wonderful Malaysian Censorship Board. at least they do something right, once in a while.) look at Advertisements, they use sex to sell everything from chewing gum to cars. get onto the LRT, and you'll see girls with skirts so short that it looks like they're wearing an unusually thick belt. take a look at women's mags and men's mags in most bookstands, and you'll find articles like 'how to charm your way into his/her pants". we are INUNDATED and OVERWHELMED with millions or messages about sex everyday, saying: SEX!!! U MUST HAVE IT!!! IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT!!! DON'T MISS OUT!!!
and they are all LIES!!!
sure, sex is great. pure and wonderful, a gift from God. but dagnabit, it's not all that! trust the words of someone who's had it: it's no big deal. the World worships sex because it doesn't realise that they're supposed to worship the One who thought the concept up and designed the various relevant body parts, with their nerves and curves. don't make that mistake - don't overrate sex.

Seventh and Final Blood
By golly, this was such an end to a battle over the last 11 days
I fought so hard
Yet its like i cant push through the walls
Darn, over all i'd rate the exams as moderately tough
English, moral and management stand a chance to help me through
Same cant be said about the others.
Among the 4 core engineering subjects, in rank of easy to hard :
Maths, MOS, Thermo an then Fluid.
*sigh*
All i can do is let Gods will to be done
I practically surrender this whole exams to Him
So now i have the next big tasks ahead of me :
Prepare for next sem
Find an company for industrial training
Think of my final year project
Think of getting a gf (joke)
Get myself organised (coz im still in a mess)
Etc
Bla Bla Bla
Well
So much for first sem advance diploma exam
Now i should take a nice little break
Battle over
War not won yet.
A war is not to see who is right.

Timmy.......meet Buddy!
Anywayz, Buddy was well, my buddy...XD. Been with her eversince i was a kid. Shes the type that likes to laze around but also enjoys some serious trash talking with strangers!!! Muahaha.......Rottweilers are like that i suppose.
Erm she never really bites anyone outside the immediate family. Except the neighbours, she'll tear up a bunny crossing the road.....
But for 11 years with her, i felt she was one of my closest non human frends. Late 1998 after the Commonwealth games, Buddy got sick (pneumonia) and for a week she was down. Even the vet couldnt do much since it was at the final stage. Of course me being the unknown to things at that time, i tot she will get better, by miracle. But i saw wat was to come
I remember that Saturday morning, i got up early. The vet was at the gates but i was locked in. Mum went to the market. So i asked him to wait a while. Mum came back. He inspected Buddy. And told us wat to do in the event Buddy leaves.
Buddy was lying on the floor, weak, haven eaten anything solid for few days. We tried some glucose water, but it wasnt enough. She kept vomiting. By afternoon she was really really in bad shape. Her breathing was shallow. It was just after lunch......then mum came in after checking buddy. She took the phone and called dad to get the animal department........Buddy left. Quietly she left us. Peaceful at least. I saw her breathing had stopped. And i went to the back of the hse......wept bitterly a while. Mum n bro cudnt hold back either. I mean, 11 years (Buddy was 77) with her is a fairly long while, esp since we both were born at abt the same time. The only picture of her i have when she was a puppy was when i was still at my old Shah Alam home.
The animal department came and took Buddy. So for the first time in my life i had nobody to look out the door or call. I have a usual habit when i get up every morning to look out the grill gates to look for her. On Sunday morning, i forgot she wasnt there anymore. Needed time to get used to it. Oh well, pet heaven was always on my mind. I remember my granfather (fondly called Atuk) telling she's probably with Saint Peter. Haha......thats nice to hear, comforting. Probably she and Timmy are having tea and talking abt the all the mailmen they've chased. LOL!
Still miss her after 9 years. 10th year coming soon. Time flies......still i rememebr her all this while.
Heres to Buddy and Timmy!
