Update for 2011

Greetings dear readers. My last post was November 2010 last year. Its March 2011 now. Some updates abt myself and my life. Just a quick short post for now.

December 2010

Cousin sister Lee Yoke Cheng got married. She is the 3rd relative in my family line (both from dad n mums side combined) to get married.......first to get married from my mums side. Congrats and happy marriage. Now waiting for the little kids to come along. =

Christmas was skipped coz cousins wedding was on that day itself. Christmas wedding. =P

January 2011

Came into 2011 prepared for a busier year than last year. Now i have the heavier burden to carry in work. Its not easy and at times i feel like i wanna just throw everything on the floor and stomp it to bits.

Registered for IS2011 early this year coz what happened last year could happen again...........a sign up frenzy that could fill all 350 seats in less than 2 weeks.

February 2011

Watched the last stage of LTdL in dataran merdeka for the first time live. Felt the atmosphere was really exciting with all the media crew, people, security officers and the racers and bikes. Had good eye washing session =), Even more exciting was on the same day was the company's off day for CNY. 2 days early leave. So right after the bike race i went home with dad to be with family and spent a nice long simple CNY in Sitiawan. One of the best CNY's i had due to its simplicity and relaxed nature. I got kinda tired of visiting.

Work kept piling on me. Lucky new guy came in so now its 3 engineers again. But 3 engineers still isnt enough to meet our work load in my view. Its still as tight as before. I have been traveling to JB often also due to the site work there.

PCC Interstate 2011 closed registration after 2 weeks. See........i told you so. This year however, my dear cousin brother Lee Chun Seong will join the 3 day grueling ride from Raub - Camerons - Tanah Merah - Damai Laut from April 29 - May 1. Welcome on the wagon of pain bro. =P

March 2011

Yeah it was my birthday month. I took leave on 18th and 21st as my birthday break while D-Day 19th was a saturday. Long break for me. =P

Birthday exercise was the JJB Badminton competition on 18th. Nobody want to partner me in doubles so i joined singles event. I was pretty sure i be out on the 1st round. True enough. Just not fit enough to play. I played doubles for far too long. =P

Birthday day was celebrated with close mates of church. Nice dinner they took me to. Just happy for the occasion. =)

26th March (yesterday) is a black day in cycling for me and my circle of cyclists as a fellow friend and rider PKYeoh was tragically killed while riding on the MEX highway at KM14 from Bkt Jalil heading towards Putrajaya. He was catching up with front group when a car rammed him from behind, killing him on the spot due to severe head injuries. News and reports + photos at the scene gave a grim reminder to many of us in the cycling community how much we love cycling yet its still a danger anywhere no matter how prepared and careful we are. But having said that, we still pay our tribute and respect to our fallen rider. The huge response in tribute, respect and encouragement to the family just shows how much he is loved by all.

I got this sad news while i was attending the CIDB course in KL at 10.30am from my close riding friend Bahri Aris. I just came back from JB 4am the previous night and i was still dead tired. I would be having a long day ahead with church activity in the afternoon till 8pm. To receive this news set the low and gloomy tone for the rest of the day. It even still carried abit into Sunday (today).

I have had the privilege to ride with the late PKYeoh on some rides like PCC Interstate 2008, 2009 and 2010 and on a few sunday rides with the PCC group. He was a nice man, with wife and son also avid riders. I saw him as the cheer bringer to the friends around him. I remember him sitting on the table surrounded by other cyclist gossiping laughing and chatting at the end of each Interstate day. In the end, he left doing what he loved most.

Tribute to PCC Cyclist PK Yeoh.

The late PK Yeoh
